Breaking news - The LIghtning, piloted by Race Tech's Paul Thede just set a new FIM World Land Speed Record for Electric Motorcycles of 173 mph at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Iightning Motorcycles and Michael Barnes teamed up on this same motorcycle and has just won the first North American EV Championship! They did it in a convincing manner often lapping up to 2nd place! Race Tech has been fortunate to be on the cutting edge of technology and the growth of precision suspension in the motorcycle industry for more than 26 years. This is why we are so excited to be involved with the Electric Motorcycle efforts. In the last few years there have been amazing advancements in battery technology. The electric motorcycle is now reaching new levels in its quest for practical, hi-performance production. I was fortunate to be able to pilot the Lightning Motors pre-production prototype to 166.388 mph at Bonneville in October 2009.
